New Freebies! California, Indiana & Illinois Elements

These little cuties are inspired by something I saw somewhere in digiland one time and have been wanting to make for my stash of California scrap goodies. As a toast to my digi-scrap girlfriends, I created them for Indiana and Illinois as well, the home states of my first digi-scrap friends.

Included in each download is the element in 3x4 (vertical) and 4x3 (horizontal) orientation. It's the perfect size for pocket scrapbooking or will make a fun element on another page. (And did someone say vacation photos?!?) Enjoy!

Red Cups | November 2011

If there is anything better than a cup of St*rbucks coffee, it's St*rbucks coffee in a red cup. If there's anything better than that, it's enjoying that cup of coffee with a friend!

And really, that's all I need to say about this page. Except that I can't wait until my next cup of coffee with my friend Rachael!

Font Friday: junko's typewriter

I'm going to try and get back to posting fun fonts again! Another new font obsession I have is with typewriter fonts. I've been having fun with this one recently, and the kind of cool thing is that I've actually used it twice in the last couple of weeks. First, the font, junko's typewriter, available on dafont.com:

I like it because it's random and kind of has a "ransom note" quality. The messy spatters are really fun, as are the funky angles and varying sizes. Mix in caps with the lowercase adds even more fun, like in this flyer I made for my church:

I used it as part of my title in this scrapbook page. I created this page as part of a "speed scrap" challenge, and I combined two of the instructions, use a font and an alpha for the title and use a spatter or splat, and used a spattered font.

Let's Eat! | June 27, 2010

I officially have three scrapbook pages done of my family reunion trip in June! Yippee!! When I got this new kit from Pixel Gypsy and Amanda Carlson Designs, On the Grill, I knew exactly what to do with it!

Let's Eat!

One thing I know for sure... where this family gathers, there will be FOOD. It will be GOOD, and there will be LOTS of it! Different family members took turns planning the menu for each night and then cooking for everyone. Sunday night was one of my favorites. Pat’s family picked hamburgers, and Dan was the grill master. Some of us ate outside, where of course - everything tastes better! The weather was perfect, and as the evening wore on, a storm moved in over the mountains, complete with sound effects.
