Birthday Card | Quick Print Hybrid

This is another card I made to be easily printed at home. This one is a birthday card for someone I work with who does the IT work. (You know this guy, he's the one you call with the words "Help me, please!")

This card is one of the reasons I try to add interesting things to my scrap stash. This computer doodle is from a kit called "Techno Girl" by Pixel Gypsy (kit now retired). Originally it had a heart in the middle of the screen, but I photoshopped a swatch of grey paper from the kit on to the screen and added the words to make a simple custom birthday card.

Thank You Card | Quick Print Hybrid

Sometimes I just need a card QUICK, so I design something that can be easily printed at home and comes out of the printer ready to send. Many hybrid cards I design with the intention of embellishing them by cutting extra pieces, adding buttons or ribbon, etc. But I don't always have time for that. The best part about these cards is that I can save the design and use it again and again.

I've made a couple of these recently, and will share them this week. This one is a simple Thank You note. To make this design, I used the font Pass the Chex from Kevin and Amanda, and also a free arrow shape built into Photoshop. Add some color, print, and it's done. Easy!

(Card finished size is 5.5" x 4.25".)

Happy Birthday, Princess Card | March 2012

Last but not least, a Happy Birthday card for my sweet sister-in-law:

You make the impossible look easy Card | March 2012

I couldn't resist this adorable flying pig, so as I was thinking about what to do with it, the expression came to me: "You make the impossible look easy!"

Keep Calm & Carry On Card | March 2012

When I saw this adorable hand-sketched crown in a scrapbook kit, I knew there was just one thing to be done with it - Keep Calm and Carry On:

Coffee Card Challenge | Hybrid

I've definitely been busy scrapping this month, and my poor blog has been neglected. I'll do some catching up soon! One thing that kept me busy was creating my first card template for a challenge over at ScrapMatters. Anyone who knows me knows that I love my coffee, so what could be better than a card shaped like a coffee cup?

Check out more of my projects in my Hybrid Project Gallery

Interested in giving it a try? The template download includes PSD, TIF and PNG files for two different cards - the shaped card like the one in my photo, and one that has a coffee cup on the front of a traditional rectangle card.

Peacemaker Card | Hybrid

This is for the It's In the Card's challenge at ScrapMatters. Check it out to download a free template and give hybrid a try! I was inspired by the bird element in this kit, and created the word art in combination with the kit's alpha. I cut out several copies of the bird to create a 3-dimensional element on the front of the card.

Quick Print Cards | Hybrid

I am a big fan of cards, and although it's really fun to create a super-custom hybrid card, it's just not realistic to put that kind of time into each and every card. All the cards were super easy to design using pre-made card templates by Krisi's Kreations. So, I created a bunch of "quick print" cards that are simpler designs that don't require any post-printing work. They are also designed with a lot of white space so they don't use a ton of printer ink. With that kind of investment, I can keep a few on hand ready to go. Sorry, H*llmark... I'm afraid you may never see me again!
